Winter Work!

With snow on the ground, sub zero temperatures, and more snow in the forecast I decided to scrap some snow pictures. Plus I had these adorable photos of my puppy Zoey just waiting to be scrapped. And I couldn't think of a better background paper then this 3birds snow design from the Focus on Photos pack. I added some stickles to the snow swirls for a touch of glitter and used 3birds foil cardstock for my title and the foil diecut border swirl to match. And of course I had to use the papertrails snowflake border as well! I just added a few punched out snowflakes, and I had a fantastic winter layout!

Supplies:

3birds focus on photos paper
3birds straight from the nest self adhesive paper for the photo mat
3birds foil cardstock
3birds white cardstock
3birds snowflake border from papertrails winter selection
3birds foil swirl border from papertrails sparkly

How About A Little Bit Of Summer?

Since so much of us is overwhelmed with a ton of snow in our neck of the woods I thought I'd bring back a little bit of summer so that we can all relive the nostalgia of warmer days and remember that this cold weather will pass and warmer days will come again soon!

For this layout I used a bunch of different 3 Birds products. Mixing and matching of products is ok in my book and it should be for you too! Feel free to experiment, you'll love the results!

Here's my materials list:

Must Have Textured Cardstock
3D Sticker Embellishment Kit
Garden of Flowers Felt and Fabric Kit
Sparkly Shapes Kit
Focus On Photos Scrapbook Kit
Paper trails Die Cut Cardstock Borders

To create the arrow shaped banner is really easy! Sometimes we love a certain embellishment but feel that the colors don't quite match. I simply turned the Border Strip over to reveal the white side and inked it using my favorite dye ink. Voila, an instant, one of a kind embellishment that works perfectly with my color palette!

Thanks for stopping by! Now get scrapping!

Christmas crunch time

I don't know about you but I still have all of my wrapping to do! So to get started I made some tags.

I die cut the tags using the Opposites Attract Winter cardstock for the base and added stcikers from the 3D sticker pack to add embellishment.

Crazy for Cards!

I love to make cards! First of all they only take up a small amount of time & I love to give handmade cards to friends and family. 3birds makes it so easy to make cards with all of their adorable embellies. For my first card I used the 3birds 3-D embellishments. These are fantastic on cards and add so much character! Plus there are so many to choose from. My next card used one of the 3birds monograms and a great star border from the papertrails collection. Hope you like them!

A Beautiful Day...

with 3Birds! Isn't it always? LOL I just love the bright happy colors in the Straight From The Nest pp pack, so I had to make another LO using them. And of course, no LO is complete without some of the Sticker Nestables!! The circles are my absolute favorite.

And...drumroll....I did get to use my Cricut! For the very first time! As promised ;) I used the Straight From The Nest cartridge and made the leaves on the LO. Aren't they cute? And sooo much cheaper than buying pre-made ones. I didn't really know what I was doing, so I don't think I set the blade to cut deep enough. Which actually turned out even better - I really like how the blade didn't cut all the way through the middle leaf veins part - it would have been something that was supposed to pop out and leave a hole, but I like that it kind of scratched the surface instead to give it more interest. Who's proud of me for using my Cricut for the first time?! :)

Supplies:
Paper: Straight From The Nest
Cardstock: Must Have Cardstock - Jewels (for the leaves)
Cricut Cartridge: Straight From The Nest
Stickers: Super Sticker Nestables and Flocked Sticker Nestables
Frame: Corners, Tabs and Frames (Comes with the Super Sticker Nestables)
Borders: Papertrails (white lace borders and the yellow butterflies are a border cut apart)
Flowers: Perfectly Pretty Petals
Rub Ons: ABC Rub Ons

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I love Christmas. I love spending time with family and friends. It is something I look forward to all year. My daughters have inherited this love for all things Christmas, so to decorate a little shelf in their room I made this little banner.

I used papers from the Opposites Attrac paper pack and stickers from the 3D Embellishment kit.

I knew that I wanted to create an elegant layout for my son's homecoming photos & the diecut swirls from the All Dressed Up Again kit were just perfect for this! To give them even more of a WOW factor I painted my swirls black and added Ranger stickles to the swirls. Yes, you can paint them and they turn out great! Give it a try!

Christmas Gift Tags

Gift-giving season is coming up, which means you will need to wrap up some gifts. And of course, those gifts will need some tags. Sure, you can buy some, but for a scrapbooker, that's Sin 101 :) Take a few minutes and make some gift tags yourself - so quick and easy and of course fun. 3 Birds makes it easy to throw these projects together without too much work. Let me share a couple I made:

Supplies:
Paper and Journaling Sticker: Opposites Attract (Winter)
Stamps: So Many Sentiments
Dimensional Sticker: 3D Embellishment Kit

Instructions:
- Cover a manila tag with paper. You can trace and then cut the paper out, or you can glue the paper to the tag and then cut around it (I did it this way, and I think this is easier).
- Punch a hole where the hole is in the tag and attach a large eyelet (this makes it look more professional).
- Add the 3D sticker
- Add the journaling spot sticker and trim off excess.
- Stamp the "To" and "From" sentiment onto white cardstock and cut out.
- Glue the words to darker paper or cardstock and cut out.
- Glue the words to the tag, then ink tag around the edges.
- Add trim to the bottom.

Paper and Chipboard: Opposites Attract (Winter)
Stamps: So Many Sentiments
Dimensional Sticker: 3D Embellishment Kit

Instructions:
- Cover the Manila Tag with paper, attach large eyelet, ink around the edges.
- Stamp sentiment onto the chipboard and attach to tag.
- Add the dimensional sticker.

And there you have it - super easy and cute tags that will give your gifts that special, personal touch. Also, just wanted to share that I FINALLY got a Cricut! Yay :) I just had to create with the adorable 3 Birds cartridges. So I'm hoping I will have it figured out enough that next time I share here, I will post something with my new machine! Wish me luck!

Oh The Weather Outside Is Frightful...

Good morning blog readers! Laura here to show you a fun and quick layout you can create using all of your winter photos.

I used the Opposites Attract kit to create this layout and for fun I made a one of a kind accent using the brand new All Dressed Up Again kit.

Here's my project

To create the background accent I used the die cut from the All Dressed Up kit as a template and sprayed a mist spray. I really liked the shape of the die cut so I used part of it as an accent and moved it slightly to the side to give it a 3-D look. You want to know a secret? I used the white backside of the die cut rather than the front side that had the color. Feel free to use the back side of any of your accents to create the look, color or feel that you want for your projects!

gift idea

I am not much of an altered project type girl. But I really want to hand make most of my Christmas gifts this year. For me the trick is to keep it simple. I choose lavender and burgandy for this frame for my Grandma.

Oh The Places You Will Go

Anyone remember that book? Of course you do! Well, it's one of the chipboard titles included in your Sticky Sparkly Play on Words kit. That kit is so full of goodness - letters, borders, titles, quotes, embellies, etc. all in foiled and glittered chipboard. Really cool stuff. I'm also in love with the new Super Sticker Nestables that are flocked - the large stickers make it so easy to create layer - just peel stick and you're done. So here's a really super quick and easy LO I made about my DS - who's always on the go, and is clearly going places :)

I also added pop dots to some of the chipboard to make it have more layers, and I added the 3D embellies for even more dimension - fun and easy!
Supplies:
Paper: Focus on Photos
Cardstock: Must Have Cardstock - Brights (love that bright blue for matting pics!)
Stickers: Super Sticker Nestables - Flocked
Chipboard: Sticky Sparkly Play on Words
Embellishments: 3D Embellishment Kit
Everything you see here is 3Birds except the brad. That's what I love about 3Birds - you buy a few of the kits and you already have everything you need to make beautiful LO's. And they're perfect to take with you to crops, etc - really cuts down on having to pack things or plan things.

Even Ghosts Can Be Welcoming

Today I want to show you a quick and fun project you can whip up in an evening to help all those little ones feel welcome to your door on Sunday night.

I created this banner using the 3 Birds On Parade Cricut cartridge and Must Have Cardstock Paper Pack. I also used some fun ribbon and string that I already had on hand and a fine tip black pen to outline the edges of each cutout.

To create the "welcome" letters I used both the font and the font shadow features on the cartridge to give the letters depth and dimension.

If you own a Cricut you will definitely want to pick up this cartridge as well as the other cartridge available Straight From The Nest . They are both definitely must haves and have so much versatility and usage. You will find yourself grabbing them more and more as you continue to discover all that is available on them. I know I am!

Thanks for stopping by! Now get scrapping!

pick of the patch

"There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on
the feelings, as now in October."
- Nathaniel Hawthorne

Yep, I am still loving the fall pictures we took last year. Time to take some new ones before winter hits!

All the patterned paper and embellishments are from the Opposites Attract Fall Edition and the cardstock is the Must Have Cardstock Jewel pack

A Touch of Halloween!

Every year a few hours before trick or treating we have a Halloween party at my mom and dads. My mom makes some fun spooky treats and we have time to get the kids ready for trick or treating (they boys are now too old, so it's just Bree going). I came up with the idea to make some fun place cards to liven up the table, and what better products to use then 3birds! So here's the cute Halloween place cards I made, and I hope it puts you in the mood to make a couple of your own!

Playing with Mist

I hope you all had a chance to grab the All Dressed Up Again kit. It has some amazingly gorgeous die-cut papers in there, and there's so much variety, it pretty much fits any topic or occasion. I was soooo in love with it when I opened it up and the intricate die-cutting on the smaller circular paper made me think of a photo of DH and DD in Disney World, with pretty iron-work in the background.

I used Glimmer Mist to create this layout. Here are some steps to make it easy: first, choose the die-cut paper you want to use - for this type of LO, choose a smaller size. Place the paper and your photo on the cardstock to decide where you want everything to be. Turn the die-cut paper over and mist. For extra interest, add the die-cut paper to the misted LO. I also used magic mesh. If you like to slowly dig into some older supplies to minimize your stash, it's a good idea to pair older stuff with new stuff to make the older stuff still relevant and fresh and original. So remember that your All Dressed Up Again package can be used in many ways, and each of those sheets can become a stencil or a mask! There are 2 sheets of each pattern, so you could save one of each pair for misting.

Taking Crafting Off The Page

Hello! Today I want to show you a fun and cute accent you can make using the brand new Garden Of Flowers 8-Pack Fabric and Felt kit.

I love all the variety that this new kit gives! Different colors, sizes and shapes - the combination's are limitless! I create this accent to use as a hair clip for my daughter, but really you can use the same idea for your cards or a super cute accent for your layouts.

Here is how I created these hair clips.

First I assembled all my layers. Like I said there is so much variety of shape and color. I chose to use 4 layers. You can do more, or less, whichever you prefer.

I then glued all the layers together using 450 Quick Dry Adhesive by Helmar USA. I love using that adhesive because it dries super fast and is acid free.

Here is my final assembled pieces. I again then used the 450 Quick Dry adhesive to glue the fabric to a hair clip.

Here is the final project in my daughter's hair. A one of a kind hair clip that she can wear for all occasions!

So there you have it! We'd love to see what fun projects you come up with using the new Garden Of Flowers 8-Pack Fabric and Felt kit.

Thanks for stopping by! Now get scrapping!
