Even Ghosts Can Be Welcoming

Today I want to show you a quick and fun project you can whip up in an evening to help all those little ones feel welcome to your door on Sunday night.

I created this banner using the 3 Birds On Parade Cricut cartridge and Must Have Cardstock Paper Pack. I also used some fun ribbon and string that I already had on hand and a fine tip black pen to outline the edges of each cutout.

To create the "welcome" letters I used both the font and the font shadow features on the cartridge to give the letters depth and dimension.

If you own a Cricut you will definitely want to pick up this cartridge as well as the other cartridge available Straight From The Nest . They are both definitely must haves and have so much versatility and usage. You will find yourself grabbing them more and more as you continue to discover all that is available on them. I know I am!

pick of the patch

"There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on
the feelings, as now in October."
- Nathaniel Hawthorne

Yep, I am still loving the fall pictures we took last year. Time to take some new ones before winter hits!

All the patterned paper and embellishments are from the Opposites Attract Fall Edition and the cardstock is the Must Have Cardstock Jewel pack

A Touch of Halloween!

Every year a few hours before trick or treating we have a Halloween party at my mom and dads. My mom makes some fun spooky treats and we have time to get the kids ready for trick or treating (they boys are now too old, so it's just Bree going). I came up with the idea to make some fun place cards to liven up the table, and what better products to use then 3birds! So here's the cute Halloween place cards I made, and I hope it puts you in the mood to make a couple of your own!

Playing with Mist

I hope you all had a chance to grab the All Dressed Up Again kit. It has some amazingly gorgeous die-cut papers in there, and there's so much variety, it pretty much fits any topic or occasion. I was soooo in love with it when I opened it up and the intricate die-cutting on the smaller circular paper made me think of a photo of DH and DD in Disney World, with pretty iron-work in the background.

I used Glimmer Mist to create this layout. Here are some steps to make it easy: first, choose the die-cut paper you want to use - for this type of LO, choose a smaller size. Place the paper and your photo on the cardstock to decide where you want everything to be. Turn the die-cut paper over and mist. For extra interest, add the die-cut paper to the misted LO. I also used magic mesh. If you like to slowly dig into some older supplies to minimize your stash, it's a good idea to pair older stuff with new stuff to make the older stuff still relevant and fresh and original. So remember that your All Dressed Up Again package can be used in many ways, and each of those sheets can become a stencil or a mask! There are 2 sheets of each pattern, so you could save one of each pair for misting.

Supply List:
All Dressed Up Again - Glitter & Foil Layered Layouts
Must Have Cardstock - Jewels
Must Have Cardstock - Brights
Sticky Sparkly Letters & Shapes

Taking Crafting Off The Page

Hello! Today I want to show you a fun and cute accent you can make using the brand new Garden Of Flowers 8-Pack Fabric and Felt kit.

I love all the variety that this new kit gives! Different colors, sizes and shapes - the combination's are limitless! I create this accent to use as a hair clip for my daughter, but really you can use the same idea for your cards or a super cute accent for your layouts.

Here is how I created these hair clips.

First I assembled all my layers. Like I said there is so much variety of shape and color. I chose to use 4 layers. You can do more, or less, whichever you prefer.

I then glued all the layers together using 450 Quick Dry Adhesive by Helmar USA. I love using that adhesive because it dries super fast and is acid free.

Here is my final assembled pieces. I again then used the 450 Quick Dry adhesive to glue the fabric to a hair clip.

Here is the final project in my daughter's hair. A one of a kind hair clip that she can wear for all occasions!

So there you have it! We'd love to see what fun projects you come up with using the new Garden Of Flowers 8-Pack Fabric and Felt kit.

Thanks for stopping by! Now get scrapping!

feeling fallish

While it is still hot here in Mississippi, the leaves are starting to change color. Makes me happy. Fall is my favorite season of all. Since we are planning a trip to the pumpkin patch in the coming weeks I thought I should finally scrap last years pictures :)

These pictures are from the hay ride we took:

I used:
Must have cardstock jewels
3D embellishment kit ( for the title)
papertrails die-cut cardstock borders (the lovely leaves)
Must have Bits & Pieces cardstock die cuts ( the yellow shape at the bottom)
Opposites attract Fall Edition ( the scalloped die-cut and the chipboard journalling block)

Fantastic Flock!

I got to sit down this weekend and play with the new 3birds flocked sticker nestables, and they are simply stunning! I love the different colors and shapes in this set and the flock just adds such a rich detail. I chose this blue and yellow combo because the blue perfectly matched the blue of our siamese's eyes. And it was so easy to put together using the different sized frames. I will definitely be using much more of the flocked nestables in the near future!

Card Day

It was card making day this past weekend, so I thought I'd use some of my super yummy 3 Birds supplies to whip up a couple cards. Recently I had caved and finally bought a die cutting machine - I bought a Sizzix Big Shot. I wanted to be able to emboss, and I wanted to be able to cut thick chipboard, cloth, etc. So I got some embossing folders and figured I could play around with them and experiment. Who knew embossing could be addicting!

For this first card, I embossed my some pretty cardstock from the Must Have Jewels pack. Then I sanded it, and then I covered it with red ink from the Inky Alphas kit. I didn't want the circles to be white after sanding. I like the effect I got - it looks red, but there's variability after the sanding. It's not all a uniform color - I think it adds a lot of interest. Then I added an embellishment from the 3D embellies kit, and the chipboard brackets are from the Opposites Attract kit. The brads are Making Memories and to complete the card, I simply outlined in silver Sharpie. Easy peasy!

I think this card makes a perfect thank you card to give in the winter time!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Muast Have Textured Cardstock - Jewels
Ink: Inky Alphas
Embellishment: 3D Embellishment Kit
Chipboard: Opposites Attract Kit

For the second card, I used the polka dot embossing folder and again, the Jewels pack of cardstock (SUCH pretty colors!!). I then sanded the top, but this time I wanted a different effect, so I didn't cover in ink. I inked the edges of the card with ink from the Inky Alphas kit. Then I used the foil cardstock as a mat for my embossed paper and distressed its edges, as well as the embossed paper edges. I used Making Memories glitter brads again and another 3D embellishment. This would be a great card to accompany a holiday gift. I'm not that into cards, but I think it really does make a difference to give a hand-made card, and it's so quick and easy, there's really no excuse not to!
