Thinking ahead

I am one of those crazy people that start Christmas shopping in August. So for me it is not unusual to be thinking of stocking stuffers too. My 13 y/o daughter loves to read so I thought I would make her a bookmark for one of her stocking stuffers.

I just had to use the new product that arrived at my door this week! Totally yummy stuff. Must Have Cardstock Jewel colors, Must Have Glitter Cardstock (a new favorite!) and the FABULous Cute As A Button Stamp Set.

Winter and Spring

I'm on a kick with these seasonal cards lately! Last time I made summer and fall cards, so I decided to round out the idea with a winter and spring card.

Winter Card.
supplies:
3 Birds Must Have Textured Cardstock Stack.
3 Birds Must Have Textured Cardstock Stack - Pastels.
3 Birds 3D Sticker Embellishment Kit.
3 Birds Super Sticker Nestables Foil and Glitter Set.
3 Birds Paper Trails Complete Borders Kit.
3 Birds Bling Goodie Box of Embellishments.

directions:
Cut purple 12*12 cardstock in half then fold to make card base.
Cut strips of cardstock and place on card front as shown.
Add strip of metallic foil sticker along bottom of card.
Place penguin 3d sticker on bottom right of card.
Place greeting 3d winter sticker on upper left of card.
Cut some snowflakes from snowflake border and glue to card.
Add rhinestones for interest.

Shaped spring card.

supplies:
3 Birds Super Sticker Nestables Foil and Glitter Set.
3 Birds Must Have Textured Cardstock Stack.
3 Birds 3D Sticker Embellishment Kit.

instructions:
Fold 12*12 pink cardstock in half.
Peel off the very center of large sticker.
Place round sticker (heart border, flower) on the folded cardstock, making sure a small amount of the circle hangs over the top, folded seam of the card base.
Before completely adhering edges of flower to cardstock, place some of the leaf stickers underneath the petals.

tip 1: Use a tiny amount of baby power and rub it on the sticky spot that overhangs the top of the card, this will make it non-sticky so it won't be sticking to your table.

Cut around the circular edges of the large sticker, being sure to cut thru both the front and back of folded card.

tip 2: If you want to use the shape of the center of the large sticker, but don't particularly like the way the pattern works with your project you can try this tip: I took the sticker and placed it on the back of a patterned paper that I wanted to use. Then I simply used my scissors and cut around the shape, flip it over and there you have the shape you want with the patterned paper you want.

Once you have the center ready, adhere to the center of your large flower using foam adhesive for dimension.
Use some circle punches and cut out pink then a smaller green circle, layer and adhere to center of flower.
Finish this card by adhering butterfly, title and flower to card as seen.

Hope that gives you some good tips and new ideas!, Charity

Who's ready for fall??

The weather is cooling down where I am (Delaware) - how about your neck of the woods? All this cooler weather is making me think fall and autumn colors...and all the pretty fall scrapbook paper, of course! Do you guys already have the 3Birds Opposites Attract pack? It has gorgeous winter pp and supplies on one side, and on the other - you guessed it - fall pp, rub-ons, die-cuts and chipboard. Take a look at what I made using just the stuff from the Opposites Attract pack and some Brights Must Have Cardstock. Btw, if you don't have that, you HAVE got to get your hands on it! I am absolutely in love with this cardstock. I'm a big fan of matting my photos, but I like to keep the mat pretty thin around the edges, so the bright carstock is perfect - it gives the photos a pop without there needing to be a lot of it. I used the orange sheet to mat my photos and I think it made such a difference - it really makes the pictures and the colors of the pictures stand out, don't you think?

Supplies:

The Weather Is A-Changing

Hello faithful blog readers! I love this time of year! Here in Colorado we're still experiencing mid 80 days, still so gorgeous! But we also know our time of warmer days is ending. Already we're losing leaves on some trees and our Aspens are changing colors.

3 Birds has amazing products you can use to help document your own Autumn memories. Take a look at this layout I created.

To me when I think of Autumn I think of yellows, oranges and blues. So when I saw these patterned papers in the Focus On Photos kit I knew I had exactly what I wanted to use! What I love about the patterned papers in this kit is that I can cut them apart to use bits and pieces of them to create one of a kind accents. In fact I used 4 different papers from the kit. Can you tell? Each of them work so well together and come together so cohesively!

I also used the Paper Trails Complete Border Kit to use a one of a kind leaf border. I love that the kit comes in seasonal sections.

I'm all about adding dimension to my projects so I grabbed my favorite Zap Dots by Helmar USA to give dimension to both the leaf border and the leaf accent. Helmar offers several different sizes and heights of zap dots to use on all your projects!

Thanks for stopping by! Now get scrapping!

Babies :)

Hello. It feels nice to be back. Over here at my house we have babies on the brain, since we were blessed with a sweet baby girl almost three weeks ago. But it is not just us, we have several friends at church that are expecting as well. So I decided to make my friends some cards.

Both cards use patterned paper from the Focus on Photos paper pack, Must Have Cardstock and a stamp from the So Many Sentiments stamp set.

No free time to scrap??

No problem! This is Ilene here, and today I want to show a LO that you can do in just about 10 minutes or less. I know I keep talking about how much I LOVE the Super Sticker Nestables, and there is a good reason for it - they make it sooooo easy to make cute, cohesive layouts fast! To create this LO, I used pp from the Focus on Photos pp pack - this one is great also, since a lot of the sheets already look like some layering has been done. On my LO here, it looks like I layered that flowery pp on top of the orange base pp, but it's really all one sheet. Also, the distressing around the edges was already done too, so I get a fun distressed look without all the work. Then, I used the new brights cardstock to mat the photos to give them a little pop. Glued them down, added a title, some of the super cute 3D embellies here and there, a little journaling...and that was IT. Yes, that's it!! I told you - fast, easy, and fun.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Focus on Photos
Cardstock: Must Have Brights
Embellishments: 3D Embellishments
Sticker (large heart and journaling spot): Super Sticker Nestables
Sticker Letters: Overstuffed Kit
